Scholastic  Identity system / motion design
Scholastic is a global educational publishing company known for producing books, digital resources, and educational materials for children, teachers, and schools. This hypotheitcal rebrand brings Scholastic into the modern era and proposes an expansion that allows the brand to be active in people’s lives past childhood.

Logomark

The new logomark combines the shape of the S with the symbol of a book, referencing back to their previous logo. I chose a red-pink in order to maintain some visual continuity for audience so that the redesign would not be as dramatic of a shift.

Icons

I created a series of icons built upon the same one-line design as the logo that would be used to denote genre across the Scholastic brand.

Colors

I used a palette of secondary colors along with three more icons to denote the new media types I added to the Scholastic brand.

Posters
I fleshed out the system in the different poster series I created. I used stacked typography in conjunction with abstracted forms of books in order to keep a storng tie to the roots of the brand as a publishing company.

Environmental
I expanded the visual identity to more environmental forms in order to show its versatility at  a larger scale.

Website
I brought the brand to a smaller and quieter context in the website. It acts as a hub for all of the new media types, allowing viewers to purchase books, movies, mini-series, audiobooks, etc and watch, read and listen to them.

Mobile App
Similarly to the website, I created a mobile app that allows users to acess all of their scholastic content  in one place.

Motion Reel

I created a brand motion reel to display the visual identity and give a more in depth feeling of the new Scholastic brand personality,
